Is vision everything?

To the young Isaac Newton, it was.

Isaac’s Eye, written by Lucas Hnath and directed by Andy Callis, is LCC’s Fall 2023 black box theatre production, a fascinating reimagination of the contentious, plague-ravaged world Isaac Newton inhabited in his early days of scientific experimentation. Newton takes center stage in this creative collision of intelligence and intuition, dreams and desires, exploring powerful visions and the lengths competing scientists will go to achieve them. The play pits Isaac against the older, successful scientist Robert Hooke, with Catherine, a local apothecary who dreams of wedding Isaac, caught in the middle.

The cast features Chet Brayton as Isaac Newton, Jonathan Riley as Robert Hooke, Will Milstein as Catherine, and Camilla Trudell as Actor/Dying Man.

Performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays Oct. 6-7 and Oct. 13-14, with one matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 8. Tickets are available at the door or at LCC Performing Arts Online Tickets.
