Mrs. Coney: A Tale at Christmas

Experience the spirit of the holidays at LCC Theatre’s Fall 2021 Studio 1 presentation of Mrs. Coney: A Tale of Christmas by Belinda Bremner, directed by Andy Callis, at 8 p.m. Friday & Saturday, Dec. 10-11 in the LCC Black Box Theatre.

Mrs. Coney: A Tale of Christmas is a heart warming and humorous memory play with music, including traditional hymns and carols. A writer recalls his boyhood and the Oklahoma homestead his family lost to the Dust Bowl, thus spending the hard scrabble winter of 1934 in Kentucky with an elderly aunt and uncle. Jamie, the boy (who appears with James, the adult writer), looks for Christmas in the woods where he finds a wounded rabbit and a mysterious old woman. He responds to her bitterness with kindness, and they exchange the real gifts of Christmas.

Performances are free, and the run time is one hour. The Black Box Theatre is located in 1422 Gannon Building.
